- The first person to model a bikini was a nude dancer called Micheline Bernardini on the fashion catwalk coz no Parisian model wanted to be seen in a skimpy two piece
- The bikini was only widely accepted in the 1960's. When it first came out, people were in shock and were all stunned on why anyone would want to wear two pieces of cloth as swimwear
- 1964 was the first time the bikini appeared on Sports Illustrated. It was a white bikini with a brief-type bottom and a bra-like top
The most memorable bikini for me was the one worn by Ursula Andress in the James Bond classic, Dr. No. The same style was refreshed and remodeled by Halle Berry in another James Bod movie, Die Another Day.
So peeps remember, its not about the latest style or the skimpiest bikini, choose one that flatters the body and doesn't restrict movement. And as I try on the bikinis to get ready for my trip, I hope I keep these two very important criteria in mind.
